It does a little body good! Liam is now drinking cow's milk and has taken right to it! What can we say, the boy likes food. :) We had a great 1 yr. doc visit with Liam hitting a whopping 24 lbs!? We estimate an actual ~ 23 considering he was weighed with clothes and a possible wet diaper, but still, that's about a 3 1/2 lb gain since his 9 month visit! So I haven't shared this publicly yet, but thought it was a good time. My mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is doing pretty well right now, healing after undergoing a couple surgeries, but will have to start chemo sometime mid-november. So Liam's not quite 4 months old yet, but he's getting real close. :) He had his 4 mo. checkup this Wed and it went really well. His weight gain is right on track (at about 12 lbs 9 oz now) and he's still up at the 90th percentile for height (26 inches!). Isn't it funny how you tend to worry about things that later seem pretty trivial to your new worries of the moment. The day has finally arrived!Kate delivered a healthy baby boy Thursday evening @ 6:25pm. 8lbs, 4oz. 21.5inches long. Because he was almost 2 weeks late, Kate was induced starting at 1am yesterday. Her water was broken at ~8am and frequent contractions started thereafter (~about every 1-2 minutes at most). Unfortunately, the baby was facing the wrong way and Kate suffered serious back labor

Just a quick note... We are still waiting but we did find out that Kate is 2cm dilated! And since the baby is just chillin' in there, we also did an ultrasound to estimate the baby's weight. Well, we've had a great last couple of days here at the Craft household. After a morning of volunteering at the Kids Tech University at VT on Saturday, Michael and I brought Leo home from the vet. FINALLY. :) We've been missing him. He's doing super well and immediately we could tell he was feeling better. He's been eating like crazy and constantly wants us to play ball with him.

Yay! So Leo made it through surgery well! Whew, that's a huge relief. The doc says that she's hopeful the tumor was benign since all his other organs look really healthy, but we won't know for sure until the bloodwork comes back in a couple days.Thanks to everyone for your support these last couple days. Update: 9pm MondaySo it's serious. Leo has an enlarged spleen. They don't know if it is cancerous or not, but if it ruptures it could be bad. Right now it's just causing him pain, making him lethargic and not much interested in food. Luckily he can live without a spleen, but the surgery is a little risky and there's the chance its cancerous so we're pretty worried. We'll likely have him go

So we had our second ultrasound today and it went really well! They checked for any abnormalities in the spine, heart, upper lip, bones and joints. The weekend before last I went on a fun (but very damp) geology field trip. We left Friday afternoon and stopped at a few places in Northern Georgia to take measurements and make observations of the terrain. Southern Appalachian geology is what we were to learn about.
