What to say...
So I've tried writing this post several times, and it's just plain hard. What do you say to dear friends who just lost their 3 1/2 month old son? With eyes full of tears you simply want to be there for them and try to give them comfort, but when they're miles away I feel so unable to help them...
Our good friends Natascha and Michael lost their littlest boy, Lukas, a week ago this past Saturday morning. It's taken me a good while to be able to write about it as I just really don't know what to do or say. Natascha and Michael are such wonderful people and it's such a sad thing, and yet they are slowly moving on and will, I know, make it on through to brighter days. I take inspiration from their strength and their willingness to share their sorrow with us. I so much want to want to hug them and make their sorrow go away, and yet know that time, their faith, and support from friends and family will pull them through.
Lukas will live on in our hearts always.
Please keep Natascha, Michael and their older son Ian in your thoughts and prayers.
To Natascha, Michael and Ian: We love you and think of you often!
Big Hugs,
k&m

DC Shower & Cherry Blossoms
Hey all! Sorry I've been slack again on posting but we've been busy! As usual I suppose. :) The last two weekends were really nice with visits to DC and Greensboro for baby showers and visiting with friends and family.
The first weekend in DC we had a lovely shower put on for us at Heather's house in Vienna. The food spread was extremely yummy!
People wrote little bits of advice on the leaves. Now they're in a nice book for us to look over when we're sleep deprived and need some help! ;)
We had lots of friends come and it was so great to see everyone!
This one's kinda blurry but really shows my tummy! :)
We played a guessing game with both Michael and I. And he beat me by one guess! I guess having a few nephews and a niece really help with ID-ing those baby items!
Everyone seemed to have a good time...
It was really fun and I think the men realized that co-ed showers are really not too bad. Especially when you get a chance to drink beer from a baby bottle! ;)
Even though they all got beat by a girl! You go Jill! :)
And then came the gifts. Thank you all SOOO much! We also really appreciated the reusing of gift bags or newspaper wrapping! It was great. Thanks!
A funny one from Mark:
And a hand made one from Tara!
Thanks to Heather and Coelle for such a nice party! And to everyone for their generosity!
The next day was really beautiful and our first warm day in a good while. We took advantage of it by heading downtown to see the Cherry Blossoms. They were gorgeous.
We also walked by the White House since Michael's never seen it in person.
Such a nice visit! The following weekend we headed to G'boro for Easter and another shower. I'll put a post up on that soon. :)
We hope you're all having a great week! Can't wait to see everyone again soon...
